What are you searching for?
If a computer could predict and show me what I like based on what i search for,
and if it could tell me who I might know based on the groups friends are organised in, and who I talk to;
I would probably understand God a little bit better if i could witness the works of this computer.
Of course, most of us already use Google and Facebook.
Although God is more than a set of algorithms, we too receive what we seek.
Those who recognize their spiritual impoverishment seek God to fill the space,
while those who seek the flesh receive the flesh. That is, eternal death.
I’ve noticed how awesome Google Ad-Sense has evolved to be.
It now provides me with more Christian advertisements and links than the number of its secular counterparts. All this out of the increased seeking activity I’ve done.
I do not doubt that God can use technology to speak to us,
but I wonder what will speak to me.
Thank You Lord for giving me the desire to search for You.
In Exodus Chapter 3, one of my favourite illustrations in the Bible,
we read about Moses’ encounter with God.
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
So when the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
Moses’ attention was captured not by a burning bush, but by the fact that the bush had not been consumed by the flames. We are like Moses in that we often fail to recognize God’s voice when we are busy.
God only spoke when Moses’ attention was captured by the peculiar sight.
Moses responded to God’s call without delay. And God identified himself to Moses.
Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father; the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.
And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
We have to know that our God is a holy God.
Unlike Moses and the people of his time, we have already received God’s instructions for how we can live in God’s Kingdom. God instructed Moses to be humbled before Him, and proceed to explain to Moses His plan of deliverance beginning with the words, “I have surely seen the oppression of My people”.
The remainder of the story I will leave for you to read and discover, as I share with you my concluding thoughts:
God’s Kingdom is not a place. It involves a change of heart.
As we submit to our Lord’s authority and power, it grows our faith and transform the environment in which we live in.
It is important for us to realize that God’s plan for deliverance may not necessarily come in the form of vengeance. Consider it possible that God would vindicate us by extending His Kingdom into the very hearts of our aggressors.

If You Want to Walk on Water
Excerpt from Matthew 14: “One night, the disciples were out in a boat after Jesus sent them ahead while he went to pray by himself. Later that night, the disciples saw Jesus walking on the lake. They thought he was a ghost and became terrified. Jesus said to them, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” Peter replied to the Lord, “If it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.”. Jesus told him to come. Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water towards Jesus.”
I wonder how many of us define life by the number of accomplishments.
During reflection I read, “…your dove of faith will no longer wander the skies in restless flight but will settle forever in its eternal resting place of peace: your Father!” - Arthur C. Bacon
How great is His love that it is unnecessary to prove our worth!
As surely as it is mentioned in Colossians 3:23-24:
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men (Col 3:17), knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. (1 Cor 7:22)”
It is time for God’s love to define us.
Let every compliment you receive remind you that it is God’s work in you.
Allow Him to lead your life in praise.
If you want to walk on water, you’ve got to get out of the boat.
(It is water which holds the boat.)

A Season of Love
Matthew 11: 7 As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? 8 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings’ palaces.
I thank you Father for forgiving my sins against you, and your children.
Your Grace is free, and for that alone you deserve all praise.
I thank You for showering me with love in every corners of life,
That all is well, even as it does not seem to be.
Father I pray that people who are currently facing struggles in their lives,
to be able to know that You have given Your word in Psalms 91 that “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
I have seen Your hand in my life, and in every struggle I yearn to see the experience You intended for me.
We have a lot to say to you, brothers and sisters. :)
